The New Musical Fountains are unveiled in the gardens of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Come and enjoy this delightful water dance in the heart of a magnificent garden!
Fruit of the fertile imagination of Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild in the Belle Époque, Villa Ephrussi is the forgotten jewel of the Côte d'Azur. The Villa’s gardens are often compared to a ship flanked on both sides by the Mediterranean. The perfect symmetry of the formal French garden, overlooking all the others, is structured around the large ornamental pond. The New Musical Fountains bring an extra touch of magic, enchanting day visitors and guests at evening receptions with their splendid watery ballet, a great aquatic extravaganza.
The fountains are choreographed to each individual piece of music. The jets in the main central pond and four side ponds dance in time to the music, creating a true aquatic ballet. Set to majestic works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Wagner and Bach and enhanced with light effects, the graceful Musical Fountains cast their spell, presenting a unique and original water spectacle.
The fountains are programmed to perform throughout the day, while for evening receptions a personalised show can be compiled from a catalogue of 40 beautifully choreographed pieces. The whole spectacle was specially designed for Villa Ephrussi to reflect the essence of the Villa and the spirit in which Béatrice de Rothschild had it built.
