MÁRCIO FARACO QUINTET

Marble terrace

MONDAY JULY 3, 2023

The night of July 3 in Cap Ferrat will be marked by a sky from another hemisphere. That's what Brazilian composer, singer and guitarist Márcio Faraco and his quintet have in store for you. The artist, who began his career in 2000 with Universal Jazz and has since built up a substantial and critically acclaimed discography, is accompanied by a group of four Brazilians from different regions of the country.

Joining Marcio on guitar and vocals in this quintet are Carioca musicians Julio Gonçalves on percussion and Ricardo Feijão on bass, Paulist Miguel Couto on drums, and impressive accordionist Douglas Marcolino from Maceió in north-east Brazil. Between the mysteries of forest sounds and jazz chords, the quintet depicts the colorful world of the famous MPB (Brazilian Popular Music).

The show's repertoire is as diverse as Brazilian culture, influenced by the cultural contributions of all the world's peoples. Between bossa nova, samba, xote and the varied rhythms that make up the palette of Brazilian music, Márcio interprets his own texts with his "Canto Falado", as well as those of the great French and Brazilian lyricists.

In addition to the composer's well-known repertoire, a number of French classics are given a tropical swing, such as "Paris", a song he wrote and which has over 4 million listens on Spotify alone. This is an opportunity to listen to this "Brazilian gaucho", born on the triple border of Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. A concert with music from every influence, where everyone can find themselves and discover a little more about themselves.
