Nuit fantastique – Trumpet and Strings

Should we deprive ourselves of the joy of performing an entire segment of musical history simply because it was not originally written for the trumpet? For the past 15 years, Romain Leleu and his five musical partners have answered this question by uniting trumpet and string quintet in perfect harmony. Fantastic Night brings together several works that musically portray the many facets of Nyx’s world.

From romantic pastoral scenes at dusk to the carefree spirit of cabarets tinged with melancholy, this journey weaves together Mozart and Dizzy, Schubert and Porter, Saint-Saëns and Milhaud. May this voyage through the Fantastic Night transport you to unexpected horizons, where magic and imagination entwine in a bewitching ballet!
